PSSI Exco on the Future of the Indonesian National Team: The Coming Year Will Be Even Crazy!

NOBARTV.CO.ID Exco said about the future , One of the PSSI Exco members, Arya Sinulingga, predicted the future of the Indonesian National Team. He said, the Garuda squad will get even crazier in the future.

The Indonesian national team has become a hot topic of conversation in the past few years. After bringing in former South Korean national team coach Shin Tae-yong as Indonesia's coach, PSSI also brought in several hereditary players with a wealth of experience.

Several former Dutch and Spanish national team players for this age group - who happen to have Indonesian blood, were recruited by PSSI. Jordi Amat, Sandy Walsh, and Shayne Pattynama are some of the players who have been members of the Dutch national team for their age group but now have the status of Indonesian players.

Not to mention several new players such as Jay Idzes, Thom Haye, Ragnar Oratmangoen, Nathan Tjoe-A-On and those currently undergoing the naturalization process such as Calvin Verdonk.

Behind the presence of these naturalized players, the Indonesian National Team is also known for its performance which is far from its previous performance. For example, they only narrowly lost to Argentina 0-2, where Team Tango had just become champions . Apart from that, the Indonesian national team also performed impressively in two important events, the 23 U2024 Asian Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup.

In the 2023 Asian Cup, the Garuda squad managed to reach the round of 16 for the first time, while in the 23 U2024 Asian Cup, Ivar Jenner et al were able to advance to the semifinals. This positive score has not been added to by the slick performance so far this 2026. Joined in Group F of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications in the Asian zone, the Garuda squad is temporarily in second place and has the opportunity to qualify for the next round.

What is even more encouraging is that the Garuda squad is currently filled with the majority of young players. In the future, these young players will be the backbone of the Indonesian national team in the future.

This is what then made one of the PSSI Exco members, Arya Sinulingga, very confident about the strength of the Indonesian National Team in the following years. Without hesitation, Arya said that the future of the Indonesian National Team would be even crazier.

“The average age of senior Indonesian national team players is 23 years. "This means that in the next 5-6 years we will still be able to fight with young people," said Arya Sinulingga last Saturday (11/05).

“They are not yet mature enough for football players. Indonesia is 28 years old. "So, there is still a lot of room to become more mature and better," he added.

Full of optimism, he believes that the Indonesian National Team will develop rapidly in the future.

"I'm sure the coming years will get even crazier," concluded the man who is also a staff member at the Ministry of BUMN.
