Yes, in this year's U-20 World Cup, Indonesia will be the host for the event which will bring together 24 young teams from all over the world. In the list of 23 contestants outside the host, various countries from five continents will come to Indonesia. From Europe, the blue continent will be represented by five teams. They are the England U-20 national team, France U-20, Slovakia U-20, Italy U-20 and Israel U-20.
However, unfortunately, the arrival of one of them, namely the Israel U-20 National Team, received a lot of rejection from elements of Indonesian society. From regional heads such as governors to community and religious organizations.
Therefore, FIFA decided to cancel the implementation of the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia. Even though he did not mention the word Israel behind the main reason, the Indonesian football audience already suspected that this was really the reason behind the decision.
The funny thing is, regarding the rejection of the arrival of the Israeli National Team, several athletes from Israel have actually come - and even competed in Indonesia. Meanwhile, from the cycling event there are three athletes who are Israeli citizens, namely Mikhail Yakovlev, Rotem Tene, and Vladyslav Loginov.
In fact, the funny thing is, in the near future, athletes from Israel will return to Indonesia when they were previously rejected. The general chairman of KOI (Indonesian Olympic Committee) Raja Sapta Oktohari confirmed that the Anoc World Beach Games event in Bali on 5 – 12 August will still be held. In the list of participants for this event, there are several athletes from Israel who will participate.
"Until today there has been no cancellation (of implementing the AWBG). Once again, in the spirit of sportsmanship, we will play until the end. We will compete until there are results. "There is no such thing as losing before the match," said Okto last Wednesday.
Okto said there were 206 countries that would participate in the event.
"So our test is how to convince other nations, convince all potential participants, even other countries who will come to Indonesia. "Because, at ANOC there will be 206 countries coming to Indonesia," he added.
"This is even bigger than the UN, which will be present in Bali to take part in the General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees throughout the world in Indonesia," he said coveringly.
