NOBARTV NEWS – At the Garuda youth training camp in Europe some time ago, three hereditary players were supposed to take part in trials. But unfortunately, only two players ended up joining. One other player did not receive approval to leave his club.
It is known that, several months ago, Indonesian National team U-20 did TC for approximately two months. They held training camps in Europe, specifically in Türkiye and Spain.
While undergoing training camp in Turkey, the young Garuda squad played several trial matches, one of which was against the Turkish U-20 National Team and the Moldova U-20 National Team. At the training camp in Turkey, two hereditary players who had previously come to Indonesia to take part in the naturalization stage joined. The two players are Ivar Jenner and Justin Hubner.
After leaving Türkiye, the young Garuda squad flew to Spain to do the same thing. In the country of the Matadors, the Indonesian National Team had the opportunity to face two contestants U-20 World Cup 2023, namely the French and Slovak national teams.
Unfortunately, in the match against France, young Garuda was badly defeated by his opponent. But thankfully, ahead of their meeting with the Slovak National Team, the young Garuda squad had two new players. They are Rafael Struick and Zico Soree.
The status of Rafael Struick and Zico Soree is different from that of Ivar Jenner or Justin Hubner. Justin Hubner and Ivar Jenner are definitely Indonesian citizens – while Rafael Struick and Zico Soree have the status of trial players. So, both of them were asked to come to the training camp by STY to be assessed on the extent of their abilities, whether they deserved to be naturalized or not.
In the end, only Rafael Struick's name was officially processed (naturalized) by PSSI because STY had given the player the green light to become an Indonesian citizen.
However, Shin Tae-yong actually hopes that three young players will join the training camp. So, apart from Rafael Struick and Zico Soree, the South Korean coach asked for one other player, namely Feyenoord U-21 striker Délano Diego van der Heijden.
Unfortunately, at that time, Délano did not get the opportunity to join the TC because Feyenoord U-21 was having a quite busy schedule. This was recently revealed by one of the PSSI Exco members, Hamdan Hamedan.
“There are Zico Soree, Rafael Struick and another player, his name is Delano. Delano happened to have a busy schedule at that time, so his club didn't allow him to join the trial," said Hamdan Hamedan.
”Delano is a player I first saw in April [2022], he has been in the database for quite a long time. When I saw him play, I saw that he was interesting. "He played well and at that time he teamed up with the Dutch U-18 captain, Mike Kleijn," he added.
Hamdan said, Délano was very enthusiastic when he was offered to take part in the trial. But once again, because of problems with club permission, he failed to prove his quality in front of Shin Tae-yong.
"I also chatted whether Delano was interested in playing for Indonesia and he said he was ready. Coach Shin wants him to join the trial, but the club won't let him go. "I see that he is serious about the national team, but maybe he doesn't have any luck yet," concluded the PSSI Exco.
It's a shame, because of the busy schedule
It's true that the schedule in Europe is likely to be busy.
Next time maybe you can join
The most important thing is to be able to play in the Asian Cup and U-20 World Cup
Hopefully so
It turns out it doesn't only happen with Indonesian clubs
In other countries, TC is important or not and how long does it usually take?
Usually only 2 weeks
Hopefully next time I can come.
