Indra Sjafri asks for the club's understanding to release its players to TC Garuda Muda

NOBARTV NEWS – Not all young Garuda retainers have joined the training camp ahead of departure for South Korea. As a result of this, the PSSI Technical Director raised his voice. Indra asked for the club's understanding in releasing its players to the national team.

As is known, since March 20, all young Garuda players should have started their first day of training camp. However, of the 29 players who were asked to join, there are still several names who are still absent.

Interestingly, in the list of players called Shin Tae-yong, there are several new faces. Three of them are potential naturalized players, such as Justin Hubner (Wolverhampton Wanderers U-21), Rafael Struick (ADO Den Haag), and Ivar Jenner (FC Utrecht U-21). Meanwhile, the other two players came from domestic competitions. They are Victor Dethan (PSM Makassar) and I Made Tito (Bali United).

But unfortunately, on the first day yesterday, there were still several players who had not yet joined. In fact, this training camp is an important preparation ahead of the appearance of the U-20 National Team squad at 2023.

So, in preparation for the appearance of Marselino Ferdinan et al, they will hold a training camp in South Korea in early April. However, while waiting for their departure visas to South Korea to be completed, the young Garuda squad has been asked to attend a training camp in Jakarta from March 20 for the next 10 days. So, this time the young Garuda TC is at the same time as the senior National Team TC who will take part in the FIFA Matchday event against the Burundi National Team.

But unfortunately, on the first day of TC yesterday, not all players had joined. This sparked comments from PSSI Technical Director Indra Sjafri. Indra who also serves as a trainer The U-22s asked for the club's understanding in releasing their players to the Indonesian National Team training camp.

Indra is well aware that currently clubs and national teams both need quality players. However, said Indra, the current case means the national team has more importance because it will play in the U-20 World Cup later. Because the young Garuda squad is required to excel because they will play as hosts.

"We are faced with dynamics with the interests of the club and the interests of the national team, we agreed with the club coach that coaching players at the club, yes. "But this is a rather special case, we as hosts of the World Cup are required to excel," said Indra Sjafri.

"We know myself as a technical director, the development of young players is not good in Indonesia, but in European countries without TC, even if the quality of the players is very good, we don't have any problems," he added.

"Argentina, world champions, doesn't have a TC, but this is what we are sitting with the club so that until the World Cup preparations end, the club supports us, releasing its players."

"It's not easy, there are two interests, one club is fighting for position 1, 2, 3, if I'm not mistaken, we understand that, but please also understand that the interests of the country are much bigger," he concluded.
